Counselling Redcar

If you are looking for counselling in the Redcar area I may be able to help.  My office is just a short 20 minute drive away in Guisborough, which is also easily accessible by bus (there is a bus stop about 100 yards away from the office) in a discreet but easily accessible building on Guisborough high street.  Redcar and Cleveland Counselling with Joanne Airey (a professional and experienced counsellor) helps people overcome challenges such as depression, anxiety, and many other problems.  I am on the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) register and I am fully insured.

If you are looking at this page you may be experiencing emotional distress (such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, loss) or you might have reached crisis point.  You have come to the right place: safe, supportive, confidential counselling and psychotherapy in a private room with a qualified therapist in Guisborough.

Everybody has the ability to change their thoughts and change their life.  Together we can explore your world and your unique experiences and I will endeavour to be a companion on your journey to discover paths for change.  I have had the honour of working with people of all ages and from all walks of life, who have come to therapy with a wide variety of personal challenges.

I offer one-off, short-term, long-term and open-ended counselling to people from Redcar.  The counselling and psychotherapy I offer is face-to-face or via Skype or by telephone.  Every session is 50 minutes long and there is no obligation to have more sessions than you feel is necessary.

My promise to you is to put every effort into understanding you and your world, and the things you are experiencing, or have experienced, which have brought you to counselling.  I offer the first session at a reduced rate to see if we can work together.

What is counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling is professional help for personal issues in a safe and confidential environment. Counsellors respect clients and work ethically, they don't judge or give advice. Counselling gives people a chance to feel heard and understood, and can facilitate changes to make your life better. Psychotherapy is when we explore past experiences and look back at your personal history to try to get to the root of problems. People come to counselling from Redcar for many different reasons, some of which include;

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • relationship problems
  • loss
  • low self esteem
  • health concerns
  • lack of motivation
  • divorce
  • bereavement
  • work problems
  • stress
  • personal development
  • addictions
  • bullying
  • transformations
  • career choices
Some issues may be long-standing, reoccurring, or others may be new. Counselling and psychotherapy can help with any of these.
